1. Lionel Jones – Maternal Side

A: James Lowndes Senior (Lionel’s great-great-grandfather) – Ann Higgins (Lionel’s great-great-grandmother, also known as Ann Lowndes upon her marriage to James in Hobart in 1827).

James Senior was born England 1795, arrived Tasmania 1823, and died Bannockburn, Victoria 1880: Ann was born England around 1804, arrived Tasmania 1826, and died Fyansford, Geelong District 1864.

B (i): James Lowndes Junior (Lionel’s great-grandfather)– Anastasia Donnelly (Lionel’s great-grandmother, also known as Anastasia Lowndes Senior upon her marriage in Melbourne in 1858).

James Junior was born Hobart 1827 and died Bannockburn, Victoria 1900: Anastasia Senior was born Kilkenny, Ireland around 1836, probably arrived Australia mid-1850s, and died Bannockburn 1911.

B(ii): Xavier Muhlebach (Lionel’s presumed great-grandfather) – Catherine Lang (Lionel’s great-grandmother, also known as Catherine Schefferle upon first marriage in the late 1860s, and also as Catherine Muhlebach upon second marriage in 1884).

Xavier was born Switzerland around 1835, arrived Australia around 1855, and died Bannockburn 1908, Catherine was born Switzerland around 1851, arrived Australia 1869, and died Geelong 1938.

C: Ernst Albert Schefferle (Lionel’s grandfather) – Anastasia Lowndes Junior (Lionel’s grandmother, also known as Anastasia Schefferle upon marriage in Sutherlands Creek in 1907).

Ernst Albert was born Geelong 1881 and died Heidelberg 1929: Anastasia Junior was born Bannockburn 1878 and died Koroit 1984. (Ernst Albert’s birth father may have been Catherine’s first husband, Killian Schefferle)

D: Eily Schefferle (Lionel’s mother,) – Henry-Allan Jones (Lionel’s father).

Eily was born Geelong 1911, married Henry-Allan in Koroit, Victoria in 1929, and died Kilmore, Victoria 1984: Henry Allan was born in the Riverina, N.S.W. 1901 and died Melbourne 1943. Eily was known by her maiden name most of her life as her marriage to Henry-Allan was short lived.

2. Lionel Jones – Paternal Side

B (i): Thomas Jones (Lionel’s great-grandfather) – Sarah Campbell (Lionel’s great-grandmother, also known as Sarah Jones upon marriage in Port Fairy in 1854).

Thomas was born England around 1818, arrived Tasmania mid or late 1830s, and died Woolsthorpe, Western Victoria in 1897: Sarah was born Isle of Mull, Scotland around 1834, arrived Victoria 1853, and died in the Riverina, N.S.W. in 1924.

B (ii): Johannes Weppner (Lionel’s great-grandfather) – Anna Frick (Lionel’s great-grandmother, also known as Anna Weppner upon marriage in Bendigo in 1862).

Johannes was born in Germany 1831, arrived Victoria 1854, and died Colbinabbin, Victoria 1899: Anna was born Fehmarn Island 1835 (at that time part of Denmark), arrived Australia 1858, and died Colbinabbin 1881.

C: Samuel Jones (Lionel’s grandfather) – Bertha Weppner (Lionel’s grandmother, also known as Bertha Jones upon marriage in the Riverina, N.S.W. in 1883).

Samuel was born Belfast, Victoria, 1861 and died Melbourne 1939: Bertha was born Colbinabbin 1863 and died in the Riverina, N.S.W. 1902.

D: Henry-Allan Jones (Lionel’s father) – Eily Schefferle (Lionel’s mother,).

Henry-Allan was born in the Riverina, N.S.W. 1901, married Eily in Koroit, Victoria in 1929, and died Melbourne 1943: Eily was born Geelong 1911 and died Kilmore, Victoria 1984.

3. Patricia Jones (nee Reilly) – Maternal Side

B: Charles Binstead (Patricia’s great-grandfather) –Bridget Dwyer (Patricia’s great-grandmother, also known as Bridget Bowman after her second marriage in 1860).

Charles was born England around 1830, arrived Australia early 1850s, and died Tower Hill, Victoria 1857: Bridget was born Limerick, Ireland about 1836, arrived Australia around 1855, and died Southern Cross, Victoria 1902.

C: James Bowman (Patricia’s grandfather) – Elizabeth Binstead (Patricia’s grandmother), also known as Elizabeth Bowman after her marriage in 1877).

James was born Antrim, Ireland around 1846, arrived Australia 1865 and died Koroit, Victoria 1912: Elizabeth was born Port Fairy 1857 and died Koroit 1941.

D: Margaret Bowman (Patricia’s mother, also known as Margaret Kelly upon her first marriage in 1908, and Margaret Reilly upon her second marriage in 1922) – Charles Reilly (Patricia’s father).

Margaret was born Southern Cross, Victoria 1889 and died Warrnambool 1973: Charles was born Dennington, Western Victoria 1868 and died Southern Cross 1954.

4. Patricia Jones (nee Reilly) – Paternal Side

B: Edmund McNamara (Patricia’s great-grandfather) – Mary Molony (Patricia’s great-grandfather), also known as Mary McNamara upon her marriage in Ireland in the mid-1830s).

Edmund was born in Clare, Ireland around 1812, arrived Western Victoria 1854, and died Kirkstall 1889: Mary was born Clare, Ireland around 1817, arrived Western Victoria 1854, and died Koroit, Victoria 1898.

C: Hugh Reilly (Patricia’s grandfather) – Bridget McNamara (Patricia’s grandmother), also known as Bridget Reilly upon her marriage in 1866).

Hugh was born Cavan, Ireland 1833, arrived Western Victoria 1856, and died Southern Cross, Victoria 1918: Bridget was born Ireland 1842, arrived Western Victoria 1854, and died Southern Cross 1914.

D: Charles Reilly (Patricia’s father) – Margaret Bowman (Patricia’s mother, also known as Margaret Kelly upon her first marriage in 1908, and Margaret Reilly upon her second marriage in 1922).

Charles was born Dennington, Western Victoria 1868 and died Southern Cross 1954: Margaret was born Southern Cross 1889 and died Warrnambool 1973.
